PM Modi said- Wherever he is, he will see the country progressing from there.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the inauguration of the Saryu Canal National Project in Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. During this, PM Modi paid tribute to Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat from the stage. He said that from where General Rawat stays, he will see the country moving forward.

The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to all the brave warriors killed in the helicopter crash on 8 December. He said- The death of India's first CDS General Bipin Rawat is a loss for every patriot. He was brave and worked hard to make the armed forces of the country self-reliant, the country is witness to this. India is in misery, but in spite of suffering, we neither stop our pace nor progress.

PM Modi prayed for the well being of Group Captain Varun Singh, the lone survivor of the helicopter crash. He said- Doctors are working hard to save the life of Group Captain Varun Singh ji, who lives in Deoria, the son of UP. I pray to Maa Pateshwari to save her life. The nation is with Varun Singh's family today. With the families of the heroes we have lost.

The country's first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat died in a helicopter crash on Wednesday. Apart from his wife Madhulika, 13 army personnel and officers were on board in this helicopter.
