PM Modi clapped 124 times in Nirmala Sitharaman's 86-minute budget speech
Along with PM Modi, all the ministers of the government sitting on the side of the ruling party, BJP MPs and MPs of allies also appreciated the Finance Minister by thumping the table in the Lok Sabha during the budget speech.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday delivered her shortest ever budget speech of 86 minutes. This was his fifth budget speech. In the year 2022, his budget speech was over in about 92 minutes, while in 2021 it was 110 minutes long. Sitharaman broke all records in 2020 when she delivered the longest budget speech of 160 minutes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi thumped the table 124 times during his budget speech on Wednesday. During the speech, he was seen continuously tapping the table to encourage the Finance Minister and appreciate the budget announcements. Prime Minister Modi later said that the first budget of the 'Amrit Kaal' provided the basis for fulfilling the resolve of a developed India. In a televised address, he said, "The first budget of Amrit Kaal will create a strong foundation for building a developed India. It has given priority to the underprivileged. This budget will fulfill the dreams of an aspirational society including poor people, middle class people and farmers." I congratulate Nirmala Sitharaman and her team for this historic budget."
