Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting of the Council of Ministers today amid increasing cases of Omicron variant of Corona. According to reports, the meeting is expected to begin at 4 pm. It is being told that all the Union Ministers will attend the meeting. During this, apart from Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, the next year's elections in other states can also be discussed.
PM Modi took stock of the pandemic situation at a high-level meeting convened last Thursday, where he asked officials to maintain a high level of vigilance regarding the spread of Omicron. Earlier, the Center had told states and union territories that Omicron is at least three times more spreadable than the delta variant. Simultaneously, the states were asked to "activate" the war room. Keep analyzing even the small trends and increasing cases and take strict and prompt action for prevention at the district and local level.
So far, 664 cases of Omicron have been found in 22 states (UTs) in India, out of which 186 people have been cured or migrated. Maximum 167 such cases have been found in Maharashtra. After this, 165 cases have been registered in Delhi, 57 in Kerala, 55 in Telangana, 49 in Gujarat and 46 in Rajasthan. A Bloomberg report on Tuesday said that India may see an acceleration in the growth rate of Covid-19 within a few days.
