PM Modi attacks Samajwadi Party, calls it "dangawadi”

The political allegations and counter-allegations are getting intense as the election process has just begun in Uttar Pradesh. As the first phase of the elections is underway on February 10, other constituencies are gearing up with election speeches and campaigns.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Uttar Pradesh to campaign for his government, has levelled allegations of corruption and dynasty politics. PM Modi said that had there been the rule of the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, people would have to pay for Covid-19 vaccines. He called the party "ghor- parivarvadi log (those who believe in dynasty).

He also alleged that Samajwadi Party is a dangawadi" or riot-backers as they were responsible for riots in Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur.

While addressing a rally in Saharanpur, PM Modi said, "People have decided to vote for those who work for development in UP. Those who keep UP free from free, those who keep our mothers and daughters free of fear, those who keep criminals in jail, people will vote for them.”

"Don't think for a moment that these dangawadis have changed. They are just waiting for an opportunity. The rioters of Saharanpur were welcomed by these mafia-like people. Across western UP they are supporting rioters. These people want to take revenge against the people of UP. Those who were cursing rioters earlier are now standing with the same rioters," PM Modi added.

PM Modi also said that earlier the governments had no vision because of 'parivarvaad' (nepotism) and they could not see or think beyond family. He added, “I see how one dynastic party is making fake promises, one after the other. They know the people of UP remember their old misdeeds. Power is not in their destiny.”
