PM Modi : About 90 percent of the adult population got the vaccine
The COVID pandemic disrupts lives, disrupts supply chains and tests the resilience of open societies. In India, we have adopted a people-centric strategy against the pandemic.

In the second Global Covid Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that we have made the highest ever allocation in our annual health care budget. Our vaccination program is the largest in the world.
About 90 percent of the adult population and over 50 million children are fully vaccinated. India manufactures four vaccines approved by the World Health Organization and has the capacity to produce 5 billion doses this year. PM Modi said that we have made the highest allocation so far in our annual health care budget.
In the summit, PM Modi said that we have supplied 200 million Covid vaccine doses to 98 countries. India has developed low-cost COVID mitigation technology for testing, treatment and data management. We have offered these capabilities to other countries as well.
PM Modi said that last month we laid the foundation of the WHO Center for Traditional Medicine in India with the aim of making this age-old knowledge available to the world. It is clear that a coordinated global response is needed to deal with future health emergencies. At the same time, he said that we must build a resilient global supply chain and enable equitable access to vaccines and medicines.
