PM Congratulates Athletes And Wrestlers on winning medals In World Junior Championships
In the past few days, Indian men and women Players have done extremely well by winning several medals in the world championships of athletics and wrestling at the junior level. In the World Under 20 Athletics Championship at Nairobi-2021 Indian athletes have won two Silver and a Bronze medal. Indian wrestlers have won a total of 11 medals including four silver medals in the World Junior Wrestling Championship held at Ufa (Russia).

New Delhi: In the past few days Indian men and women Players have done extremely well by winning several medals in the world championships of athletics and wrestling at the junior level. In the World Under 20 Athletics Championship at Nairobi-2021 Indian athletes have won two Silver and a Bronze medal. Amit Kumar in 10,000 meters Race Walk and Shaili Singh in the Long Jump have won Silver medals, Bronze is won by the Mixed Team in the 4x400m Relay Race.
Until this edition, India had won a total of four medals in the World Athletics Junior Championships, with bronze medals for Discus Thrower Seema Antil (2002) and Navjeet Kaur Dhillon (2014) and gold medals for Javelin Thrower Neeraj Chopra (2016) and 400m runner Hima Das (2018). India has nearly matched that tally here.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has congratulated Indian men and women athletes on winning the medals at World Athletics Under 20 championship at Nairobi-2021. In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, "Picking speed and success! Congratulations to our athletes for bringing home 2 Silver medals and a Bronze medal at @WAU20Nairobi21. Athletics is gaining popularity across India and this is a great sign for the times to come. Best wishes to our hard-working athletes."
Indian wrestlers, both men and women,have won a total of 11 medals including four silver medals in the World Junior Wrestling Championship held at Ufa (Russia). Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also congratulated wrestlers on winning medals at the Junior World Wrestling Championships 2021. In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, “More power to the talented wrestlers! At the Junior World Wrestling Championships 2021, our Men’s and Women’s contingent comes back with a total of 11 medals including 4 Silvers. Kudos to the team for the success and best wishes for their future endeavours.”
