Patna Nagar Nikay Chunav: Voting tomorrow in 68 municipalities including Patna Municipal Corporation
Three compartments each have been made for voters at every booth. A voter shall vote for Chief Councillor, Deputy Chief Councilor and Ward Councilor candidate in his municipal area. For the first time, voters have been given the opportunity to directly elect their mayor and deputy mayor.

In the second phase of municipal elections in the state, polling will start from 7 am on Wednesday in 68 municipalities including Patna. This process of voting will continue till 5 pm. In Gaya, voting will be held till 3 pm in Dobhi and Fatehpur Nagar Panchayats.
According to the information received from the State Election Commission, all the preparations for the polling have been completed. Adequate security arrangements have been made to ensure that there is no disturbance during the polling. For peaceful and fair elections, more than 28 thousand jawans have been deputed in the areas. In the second phase, voting is to be held in 23 districts of the state.
These districts include 17 municipal corporation areas, two city council areas and 49 city panchayats. In these 68 bodies, the local public will vote in favor of 68 Chief Ward Councilor, 68 Deputy Chief Councilor and 1529 Ward Councilor candidates. A total of 7088 main booths and 286 mobile booths have been set up for polling. The counting of votes will take place on Friday, December 30 at the district headquarters. In view of the second phase of municipal elections, the Secretary of the State Election Commission has instructed all the District Magistrate cum Election Officers to follow the Covid guidelines. The Commission has given instructions that people should follow physical distance, wear masks and come to the polling booths. The commission has also given instructions for arranging masks, PPE kits, gloves and sanitizers for the polling personnel.
