Passenger assaults crew on Air India flight: 2 members injured, London-bound flight returns to Delhi airport after 4 hours

Due to the misbehavior of the passenger during the flight, the Air India flight had to return to the airport on Monday morning. An airline official said that a passenger on AI-111 flight from Delhi to London started fighting with the crew members, assaulted them. 2 crew members have received injuries.

The airline said that the flight had taken off for London's Heathrow at 6.30 am on Monday. After takeoff, the passenger started misbehaving. The staff in the plane warned him repeatedly but the passenger continued to misbehave. He also injured two cabin crew members. After this the flight returned to Delhi at 10.30 am.

The airline lodged a complaint against the passenger at the Delhi Airport Police Station. The police have registered an FIR and taken the accused into their custody. The airline apologized for the inconvenience caused to the rest of the passengers regarding the whole incident and said that the same flight has been rescheduled to go to London. The plane was flying near Peshawar According to real-time flight tracking app Flightradar24, the Air India plane was flying near Peshawar in Pakistan when the decision was taken to bring it back to Delhi.

Air India CEO said- Complaints are received every day

Air India CEO Campbell Wilson said in an interview in February that the airline crew often faced misbehavior from passengers while on duty. Not a day goes by when we don't get such reports. There has been a decline in the behavior of passengers in flight. It needs decorum. He also suggested changes in the airline law for this.

Passenger misbehaved in SpiceJet flight in January

In January, a passenger molested an air hostess on a SpiceJet flight. A video of this incident also surfaced. In which the accused was seen shouting at the airhostess. After this incident, Absar and his fellow passenger were removed from the flight. The accused passenger Absar Alam was a resident of Jamia Nagar, Delhi. He was going to Hyderabad with his family. He was arrested after the complaint.

Urine incident happened in Air India flight itself.

Passenger Shankar Mishra urinated on an elderly woman on a New York-Delhi flight of Air India on November 26. The airline did not take any action on this incident. The airline lodged an FIR with the Delhi Police. This action was taken when the victim elderly woman complained to the chairman of the Tata Group.

In this case, DGCA imposed a fine of 30 lakhs on the airline. DGCA suspended the pilot's license for 3 months. Accused Shankar Mishra was also banned from air travel for 4 months.
