Parliament Monsoon Session Day 1: On Monday, civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said that the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB ) is carrying out a rule-based, definitive process in Indian Airplane crash that happened on June 12 and it is completely unbiased.
Naidu told Rajya Sabha during the first day of the Monsoon Session of the parliament, that the government would like to know what exactly happened in the crash of the Air India plane, in which more than 260 people lost their lives. The minister further stated that no one can tell the actual reason until the final report of the probes given by AAIB is available.
"AAIB was successful in decoding data from black boxes of Air India plane that crashed last month," he said.
What was the AAIB report?
This is the AAIBs preliminary release regarding an accident which occurred on June 12 when Air India Flight 171 a Boeing 787-8 left Ahmedabad airport seconds later the both engine fuel control switches moved to the CUTOFF position manually. This occurred even as no mechanical errors were found with the plane or the engines, according to the report.

There are cockpit voice recordings described in the report of July 12 that reported one pilot asking the other what they had turned off the switches, technical abnormalities (fuel, weight, or avionics) were not discovered. Although engineers temporarily could improve the condition of one engine, there was no time to avoid the crash with a hostel building.
However, the report concluded that it was premature to come up with any "concrete conclusion" regarding the cause behind the plane crash as the investigation is going on.
On June 12, the plane belonging to Air India destined to land at London Gatwick was Ahmedabad crashed into a hostel a few minutes after the take off killing 260 people in the plane including 19 people on the ground. One passenger survived among the 242 people on the plane.
