“In this time of trial, we stand by Iran in every way. We will protect Iranian interests. Iranians are our brothers, and their grief and pain are shared,” Asif said.
Asif noted that Israel is not merely targeting Iran, but also Yemen and Palestine, adding that unity in the Muslim world is important and goes beyond joining calls to arms. “If we remain silent and disunited today, then everyone will be targeted eventually,” he said.
Asif further demanded that a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) be called with respect to Israel's violent response toward Iran.
He also stated that non-Muslim citizens in the west are protesting against Israel. “Their conscience has awakened—unlike the Muslim world,” he said, according to Dunya News.

Israel's attack on Iran
On Friday, Israel launched airstrikes targeting Iran's nuclear weapons and military facilities killing reportedly multiple Iranian generals and most of the senior leadership of the Revolutionary Guards' aerospace division. The Iranian ambassador to the UN stated that the attacks killed 78 people and injured more than 320.
In retaliation, Iran launched a barrage of missiles targeting Israel the next night, escalating the tension in the region sharply.
According to Israel, scores of missiles were launched toward Tel Aviv and cities, and air raid sirens rang out all over Israel, with the military notifying civilians to take shelter.
Although many missiles were intercepted, some were able to get through Israel's air defenses, resulting in damage to some areas of the country.
Israel defended it's actions saying intelligence indicated Iran's nuclear programme was nearing "the point of no return."
