Padma Vibhushan to CDS Rawat, Padma Bhushan to Nadella- Pichai

On the eve of Republic Day, the President of India has approved to confer 128 Padma Awards this year (Padma Awards 2022). CDS Rawat will be given Padma Vibhushan posthumously. Krishna Ella and Suchitra Ella of Bharat Biotech, Cyrus Poonawalla of Serum Institute of India, Satya Nadella of Microsoft, Sundar Pichai of Google will be honored with Padma Bhushan.

Former UP Chief Minister Late Kalyan Singh will receive Padma Vibhushan posthumously. Along with this, late West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad will be honored with Padma Bhushan.

Olympians Neeraj Chopra, Pramod Bhagat and Vandana Kataria and singer Sonu Nigam will be honored with Padma Shri. Significantly, one of the highest civilian awards of the country, the Padma awards are given in three categories - Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The award is given in the fields of various disciplines/activities like arts, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc.
