Team India, who had already lost the series after losing two consecutive matches, defeated Bangladesh by 227 runs in the third ODI. With this, the Indian team survived the clean sweep. This is India's biggest-ever win over Bangladesh in terms of runs in ODI cricket. The previous record was 200 runs. India defeated Bangladesh by this margin in 2003 in Dhaka.

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to field first in Chittagong on Saturday. India scored 409 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs with the help of Ishan Kishan's (210) double century and Virat Kohli's (113) 44th ODI century. Ishaan holds the world record for the fastest double century in ODI cricket. He scored a double century in just 126 balls.

In response, the Bangladesh team was reduced to a score of 182 runs in 34 overs. Shakib Al Hasan scored the highest 43 runs. Shardul Thakur took the maximum of three wickets for India. This means Bangladesh could not even score as many runs as Ishaan Kishan.
