Opposing the Agneepath scheme Bharat Bandh today, Security Tightens in Many states including UP, Punjab-Haryana

Bharat Bandh Protest: The central government recently announced the Agnipath scheme for recruitment in the army, against which youths across the country are protesting. In several states, however, the protests have turned violent where Public Properties like Trains and Buses have been vandalized. Demonstrations have taken place against the scheme in many states of the country including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh. Amidst protests against this plan across the country, many organizations have now announced a Bharat Bandh today (June 20). After the announcement of Bharat Bandh, the police in the states started strengthening their security system. GRP and RPF have also geared up to save the railways from damage.

In Haryana, there were violent demonstrations in many districts regarding this movement in the past. In such a situation, the Faridabad Police has beefed up its security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident during the Bharat Bandh. Noida Police in UP says that Section 144 is already in force in Gautam Buddha Nagar, so any attempt to disturb law and order will be dealt with strictly. More than 200 people have been arrested in connection with the protest at Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida on Friday.

Faridabad Police Spokesperson Sube Singh issued a statement saying that we have made all kinds of preparations regarding Bharat Bandh. We will ensure that there is no incident of any kind in the city during the bandh. Also, we request the general public not to spread any kind of rumor regarding the Agneepath scheme. He said that we have put up blocks at different places in the city and all the ACPs have been given special instructions to maintain law and order during the bandh.

In Jharkhand too, it has been decided to close all schools and some institutions in view of the Bharat Bandh. Jharkhand Education Secretary Rajesh Sharma said that the decision to close the schools has been taken in view of the Bharat Bandh. At the same time, Punjab Police has also made special preparations regarding India.

Punjab's ADGP, Law, and Order have given special instructions to all CPs and SSPs to maintain law and order during the Bharat Bandh. He said in a tweet that we are also keeping an eye on those who spread wrong information from social media. We will take special care that no one misuses this platform during the Bharat Bandh.
