One Terrorist encountered by Security Forces in Shopian, operation continues

A terrorist has been killed by security forces in an ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists at Chermarg in Zainapora area of ​​South Kashmir's district Shopian. The slain terrorist is yet to be identified but the terrorist has been killed.

The operation of the security forces is still going on. There is a possibility of the presence of more terrorists in the area. The security forces had given them several chances to lay down their arms before they opened fire on the terrorists. Even after one terrorist was killed, the security personnel are asking other terrorists hiding in the area to surrender, but at present the operation is going on.

According to the information received from the police, a joint team of SOG, Army and CRPF, who reached there immediately after the information about the sighting of terrorists in Chermarg, Jainpora, was conducting a search operation. As the team of security forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists opened fire on them.

Responding to the firing, the security forces asked the hiding terrorists to surrender but the terrorists continued to fire on the security forces. At present the encounter is going on.
