Mahendra Omprakash, who was one of the founders of SubhaSP, has been very close to Rajbhar. Mahendra's importance in the party was second only to Omprakash.

In the 2017 assembly elections, in the BJP alliance, Subhaspa contested him against Mukhtar from Mau Sadar, in which Mahendra got close to 89 thousand votes. He was defeated by Mukhtar by about 6,000 votes. The party had also made him a candidate from Mau in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
