Omicron's new sub-variant in Delhi is 20 to 30 percent more infectious
is worth noting that at this time there has been a jump in the number of new cases of Covid in Delhi and the positivity rate is increasing at about 18 percent.

The strain of Omicron, which came at this time in the country's capital Delhi, is more infectious than the base strain that came in January this year and with this the effectiveness of the vaccine has fallen by 20 to 30 percent at present. Dr. NK Arora, Chairman, Covid Task Force gave this information in a conversation with NDTV. It is worth noting that at this time there has been a jump in the number of new cases of Covid in Delhi and the positivity rate is increasing at about 18 percent.
In an exclusive conversation with NDTV, Dr. Arora said, "The positivity rate of 18 per cent is intimidating but it is also important to look at the parameters like hospitalization rate and associated mortality rate." This is almost the case with Corona cases in the U.S lives." Giving an example, he said that if someone in the family tests positive and other members also have similar symptoms, then no more tests are done. He said that there is a need to implement back the Covid security measures including masks.
He said that the strains of Omicron B5 and B2, currently present in Delhi, are 20 to 30 percent more infectious than the base variant of Omicron. To a question whether this disease has become endemic in India and this condition is going to remain for the next five years, Dr. Arora said that in the last six months no sub-lineage has been found which is more infectious. He said that if this situation continues for the next two or three months, then as a health worker I will be in a comfortable position and it can be said that the normal system should be implemented.
