Corona is again wreaking havoc in the capital Delhi. How fast the pace of Covid cases has increased can be gauged from the fact that 2,726 new cases were reported in Delhi in 24 hours. At the same time, the positivity rate has reached 14.38%. During the last 24 hours, 6 lives have been lost in Delhi due to Corona. Meanwhile, for the first time in Delhi, the new sub-variant BA2.75 of Omicron has been found. Due to this the infection rate of corona has increased. In view of these increasing cases, the government has started taking strictness.
The government has appealed to the people to wear masks. If the rule of wearing masks is not strictly followed, then a fine of Rs 500 will have to be paid. The government has also started forming teams for this monitoring. In fact, the negligence had started again only after the new cases came down in the past. People were very negligent in wearing masks in public places, metro stations, metro trains and other places but on the rapidly increasing new cases of corona, the government has warned to follow the rules seriously or be ready for fine action.
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said that as per an order issued by South Delhi district, the COVID-19 infection rate has increased in Delhi in the last fortnight. The order said that the DDMA, after considering the penal provisions relating to non-wearing of masks, has decided to impose a fine of Rs 500 on all public places in Delhi for violators of this rule. The District Magistrate of South Delhi has constituted three teams for implementation of the rule related to wearing of masks in public places. It has been said in the order that the teams will work under the supervision of Tehsildars of the respective sub-divisions. The Tehsildar will monitor the implementation and inform the coordination branch of the district on a daily basis about the number of challans issued. Each team will comprise 15 civil defense volunteers, besides district magistrates, who will ensure the implementation of the rule in public places like markets.
Corona cases have increased in Delhi, due to this, deaths are also happening continuously. 6 people have died in Delhi during the last 24 hours. Even a day before this, 8 people have died due to corona. Amidst the ever-increasing new cases of corona and the increasing number of deaths, the government has re-sensitized the rules of wearing masks and keeping adequate distance in public places.
