The government has said that the new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be valid from January 11, 2022 till further orders. According to the circular, people traveling to India will have to give their complete information by filling a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal.
After increasing the cases of corona in the country at an explosive pace, the government has taken a big decision and implemented a 7-day home quarantine for every person coming to India from abroad. The cases of Omicron, the new variant of Corona in the country, are increasing continuously.
They will also have to upload a COVID-19 negative RT-PCR report up to 72 hours before starting the journey. It has also been said in the order that passengers who need to get tested on arrival will have to make online pre-booking for this on the Air Suvidha portal.
Apart from this, the government also clarified that passengers coming from at-risk countries will have to inform the airlines that they will get their Covid test done after arrival. Strict isolation protocol will have to be followed if found positive in this.
