Nykaa IPO: here's how many crores Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt earned thanks to their investments For Katrina Kaif, her investment came one year after the launch of KAY beauty on Nykaa. After successful brand growth, the actress also moved on and invested money in the e-commerce company by purchasing shares. In 2018, Katrina Kaif had invested a small amount of Rs 2.02 crore - compared to her current share - in the brand. Alia Bhatt, on the other hand, showed a bit more confidence and invested Rs 4.95 crore in July 2020, according to YourStory. Now that the brand's IPO has been a huge success, resulting in a 10-fold increase in their shares, the actresses have also made huge profits.
While Katrina Kaif's initial investment climbed to Rs 22 crore at the close on Wednesday, Alia Bhatt earned a whopping Rs 54 crore against her investment of Rs 4.95 crore. The biggest payoff from the successful IPO was, of course, Falguni Nayar. FSN ECommerce saw its market capitalization double to $ 13 billion, pushing founder Falguni Nayar into the Indian billionaire club with a net worth of $ 6.5 billion. Interestingly, this isn't the first time a celebrity has made money from a company's IPO. Previously, Amitabh Bachchan also hit hard with JustDial. In 2013, following their IPO, JustDial offered Bachchan a huge 46-fold increase in the amount of their investment - the biggest celebrity investor has won since an IPO to date.
