Number Of LPG Customers In The Country Has Increased To 29.11 Crore
If we go through the central government data,12.49 crores of LPG customers have increased in the country since April 2016. As of 01.04.2016, there was a total of 16.62 crore LPG customers in the country which has increased to 29.11 crores as of 01.07.2021. According to Prime Minister Modi Ujjawala Yojana has led to the manifold expansion of LPG gas infrastructure. During the last 6-7 years more than 11 thousand LPG distribution centers have been opened. that we are very near the cent percent gas coverage as during the last 7 years more gas connections have been given than were there in 2014. efforts are on to provide gas through pipes at a much larger scale. He said PNG is much cheaper than cylinder and work is on to provide PNG in many districts of eastern India including in UP. In the first phase, a target has been to connect 12 lakh households in more than 50 districts of UP.
According to Shri Rameshwar Teli, The LPG customers, who have joined the PAHAL Scheme, are cash transfer compliant. As of 01.07.2021, out of total of 29.11 crore LPG customers, 27.27 crores have joined the Scheme and they are Cash Transfer Compliant(CTC). State/UT-wise details are at Annexure-I.
Transfer of LPG subsidy is an automated process. Normally it takes around two to three working days. As per the respective Citizen Charter of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), the time frame for delivery of refills is seven working days. However, OMCs endeavour to deliver refills within two working days.
