IndiGo, a private airline, has teamed up with CarterPorter to provide door-to-door baggage delivery. The airline began providing the service from 1st April onwards in New Delhi and Hyderabad, and further plans to expand to Mumbai and Bengaluru later this year for delivery to and from homes and airports.
The baggage transfer service, according to IndiGo, will allow passengers to fly worry-free because CarterPorter will move their baggage contactless from one destination to another while also providing additional assistance inside the terminal. Furthermore, for a one-way trip, the price begins at Rs 630.
“The service would provide ease to customers who may want to fly with additional baggage from home to the airport or would like to go to a meeting directly from the airport without carrying bags,” said Sanjay Kumar, IndiGo's Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer. " Our cooperation with CarterPorter will ensure a smooth experience for our customers as their luggage is transported from point A to point B” he added.
“In addition to shorter wait times at the airport, the service would also provide convenience to people who seek comfort and need a baggage-free passage from one city to another,” said Harsha Vardhan, CEO of CarterPorter.
Indigo explained that with ‘6EBagport’, customers' baggage will get simply and safely picked and transported with tracking from the first to the last destination. The ‘6EBagPort’ service can be availed up to 24 hours prior to the departure of the flight and at any time upon arrival. It also includes service insurance for the contents and container worth Rs 5,000 per baggage piece.
