Novak Djokovic claimed his 7th Wimbledon title, defeating Oz's Nick Kyrgios

Novak Djokovic has become a Wimbledon champion for the fourth time in a row. He equaled Pete Sampras' record by defeating Nick Kyrgios of Australia in four sets in the final of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. Although the Serbian champions suffered a 4-6 defeat in the first set of the match, they made a spectacular comeback after winning two sets back to back to take the lead. The fourth and deciding set saw a close contest between the two players. After the set was tied 6-6, the men's singles champion was decided in a tie-breaker, where Djokovic won. This is the 21st Grand Slam title of Novak Djokovic's career. With this win, he has overtaken Swiss tennis great Roger Federer, who has a total of 20 Grand Slams in his account. Djokovic is now just one Grand Slam behind Spain legend Rafael Nadal's 22 Grand Slams. The title at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships was the seventh title in a grass-court Grand Slam of Novak's career. In the race to win Wimbledon, he is just one step away from Federer, who holds the most of eight Wimbledon titles. Djokovic equaled seven titles on the courts of former American tennis player Pete Sampras' All England Club by winning his seventh Wimbledon title.
Djokovic defeated British player Cameron Norrie in the semi-finals to secure a place in the final of Wimbledon 2022. In this last four match, the Serbian champion defeated Nori in four sets. Novak won the match 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.
