North East Team of Usmanpur Police arrests 7 Gamblers, recovers cash of Rs. 93,420 and Playing Cards
In pursuance of a zero-tolerance policy against crime and criminals, incessant sincere efforts are being made by team North East District. Continuing the spirit, the Police Team of Usmanpur Police on Monday arrested a group of seven gamblers and recovered cash worth Rupees 93,420 as the bait amount.

New Delhi: In pursuance of a zero-tolerance policy against crime and criminals, incessant sincere efforts are being made by team North East District. Continuing the spirit, the Police Team of Usmanpur Police on Monday arrested a group of seven gamblers and recovered cash worth Rupees 93,420 as the bait amount, and five-set of playing cards. The accused have been identified as Naushad (32), who was later heralded as the organizer, Rizwan (30), Wasim (32), Sunil (40), Md Zafar (44), and Nadeem Aalam (40). Out of the seven accused, Wasim and Nadeem have had previous criminal involvements.
According to Devesh Kumar Mahla, Additional Dy Commissioner of Police-I, North East District, “On 11.04.22, a team of AATS/NED under the supervision of Inspr. Ajay Kumar Yadav received secret information regarding Gambling in the area of PS New Usmanpur. The information was shared with senior officers. Accordingly, a police team of PS New Usmanpur conducted a raid at a suspected place in Brahmpuri Delhi and 07 persons involved in the gambling with playing cards were apprehended.”
Following the raid, cash worth Rs. 93420/- and five sets of playing cards were also recovered from the place. A case vides FIR No. 477/22 dated 11.04.22 under the Delhi Public Gambling Act, PS New Usmanpur, Delhi was registered and an investigation was taken up. During the course of the investigation, their identity was established, and all of them confessed to their crime.
