North East Team of Nand Nagri Police apprehends Female Bootlegger previously involved, Recovers 66 Bottles of Illicit Liquor, PS Nand Nagri arrests amblers

New Delhi: In a major development for the North East Team of the Delhi Police, the Nand Nagri Police apprehended a female bootlegger, while Team Bhajanpura recovered 66 bottles of Illicit Liquor. The identity of the accused, who’s 64, has been kept anonymous. This was done in pursuance of a zero-tolerance policy against organized crime in the North-East District, New Delhi.

According to Sanjay Kumar Sain, Dy. Commissioner of Police, North East Delhi, “On the 23rd of March, while patrolling in the area, a police team comprising HC Rambir, Const. Naveen and W/Const. Chitra noticed a lady carrying a plastic Katta/bag nearby Tikona Park, Gamri Road Bhajanpura, Delhi. Seeing the police team, the lady entered a nearby street in a hurry which was suspected by the police team. She was stopped, during a search 66 quarters of bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from her while a plastic bag. The accused’s identity has been kept anonymous."

He further added, “During the course of the investigation, she confessed to her crime, and it was found that she had previous criminal involvements.” An FIR No. 356/22 dated 23.04.22 u/s 33 Delhi Excise Act, was lodged in-Bhajanpura, Delhi.

On the other hand, the Nand Nagri Police recovered cash of Rs 3140, 7 Satta Slip Books, and 3 Blue Carbon Papers after arresting 5 Gamblers in the area. The accused have been identified as Sachin(36) Yogesh (24), Ashu Kumar (40), Manoj Kumar (29), and Rohit (46).

In another case, the Nand Nagri Police apprehended 3 gamblers, and recovered cash of Rs 2110, wherein the accused have been identified as, Manoj Kumar (41), Mohit (31), and Asian (41).

Mr. Sain added that “On 23.04.22 on the basis of secret information a police team comprising SI Niraj, HC Rajkumar Const. Arun and Const Naveen under the supervision of SHO/Nand Nagri conducted a raid near the wall at C-Block, Park Nand Nagri, and apprehended 05 persons indulged in Satta. Accordingly, a case vides FIR No. 375/22 dated 23.04.22 u/s 12/09/55 Delhi Public Gambling Act, PS Nand Nagri, Delhi was registered and an investigation was taken up.”

In regards to the second case at the Nand Nagri Station, he further added, “On 24.04.2022 on the basis of secret information a police team comprising HC Ajay Kumar, Const. Padam and Const. Naveen under the supervision of SHO/Nand Nagri conducted a raid near the wall at District Park Nand Nagri and apprehended 03 persons indulged in Satta. During the search, one set of playing cards and Cash Rs. 2110/- were recovered from their conscious possession. Accordingly, a case vides FIR No. 378/22 dated 24.04.22 u/s 12/09/55 Delhi Public Gambling Act, PS Nand Nagri, Delhi was registered and an investigation was taken up."
