North East Team of Nand Nagri, New Usmanpur, Bhajanpura Police, and PS Welcome apprehends accused involved in various activities

New Delhi: Under Operation Ankush launched by the North-East District with the objective to curb Street and Organized Crime, deter the criminals/anti-social elements, and more importantly enhance the sense of safety among citizens, the Police Team of Nand Nagri, New Usmanpur, Bhajanpura, and Welcome apprehended accused involved in various activities. These cases have been solved by the North East District within the last 24 hours.

The Nand Nagri Police apprehended 11 persons involved in Satta and recovered cash worth Rupees 24,030. The accused persons have been identified as Rakesh (32), Sumit (20), Ashwan (42), Kishan (30) years, Ramesh (39), Vishal (21), Ravi (34), Shailesh (35), Pradeep (36) Years, Shahbaz (22), and Ashraf Ali.

According to Sanjay Kumar Sain, Dy. Commissioner of Police, North-East District  “On the 24th of March, a police team comprising HC Sanjeev Kumar and Const. Sachin while patrolling in the area received information through team AATS/NED regarding Satta in D-3 Block, Nand Nagari. The information was shared with SHO/Nand Nagari. Immediately, one more police team comprising ASI Veersain and DHG Narender Bhatti performing duty on ERV was also directed to reach the spot. Accordingly, a raid was conducted and 11 persons involved in Satta were apprehended. During the search cash Rs 24030/- (twenty-four thousand and thirty rupees only), 07 Writing Pad, and 15 carbon papers were recovered from their possession.

Accordingly, a case vides FIR No.379/22 dated 25.04.2022 u/s 12/9/55 Delhi Public Gambling Act, PS-Nand Nagari, Delhi was registered and an investigation was taken up.

The PS Usmanpur has arrested a Bootlegger previously involved and recovered 376 Quarter of Illicit Liquor. The accused has been identified as Arif (25). The Team PS Bhajanpura arrested a bootlegger previously involved in multiple cases of Bootlegging, and recovered 164 Quarter Bottles marked as “Sale in Haryana.” The accused has been identified as Noor Hasan (25). As per the official press release, “On the 25th of April, under the supervision of SHO New Usmanpur, Delhi conducted a raid in Punjabi Colony, Gamari Extension, Delhi and apprehended a person sitting on a scooty No. DL-5SBR 2269 and recovered 376 quarters bottles of illicit liquor marked as ‘For Sale in Haryana Only’. His identity was established as Aarif (25). Accordingly, he was apprehended and a case vides FIR No 510/22.”

Mr. Sain reinstated that, “On the 25th of March, information regarding illicit liquor was received at PS-Bhajan Pura. Immediately a police team comprising HC Ram Kumar and Const. Mohsin under the supervision of SHO Bhajanpura laid a trap near 5th Pusta Mother Dairy, Service Road Gamari, Delhi. At around 11.45 PM, a person carrying a while plastic gunny bag was stopped and checked. During a cursory search, 164 quarter bottles of illicit liquor marked as ‘For Sale in Haryana Only ', were recovered from his possession.

The Team PS Welcome, on the other hand, arrested a dreaded criminal previously involved in multiple cases and recovered a button-actuated knife. The accused has been identified as Amir (22). A case vides FIR No. 302/22 dated under the 21/61/85 NDPS Act & 25/54/59 Arms Act, PS-Welcome, Delhi was registered and an investigation was taken up. Sincere efforts are being made to ascertain the source of smack. As per the Police, the investigation of the case is in progress.
