North East Team of Gokulpuri Police arrests Notorious Auto Lifters involved in Multiple Cases of MV Thefts
In a major development, the North East Team of Gokulpuri Police recovered a button-actuated knife, and ten motorcycles, and apprehended two notorious Auto Lifters who were previously involved in Motor Vehicle Thefts.
In a major development, the North East Team of Gokulpuri Police recovered a button-actuated knife, and ten motorcycles, and apprehended two notorious Auto Lifters who were previously involved in Motor Vehicle Thefts. The accused have been identified as Farman and Vishal.
As per Sanjay Kumar Sain, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North-East District, New Delhi, “On the 19th of March, 19.05.22, while patrolling in the area, a police team comprising SI Satyadev, Const. Rohit, Const. Vipin and Const. Balram reached Nala Road, Bhagirathi Vihar, Delhi, and started random vehicle checking. At about 08:00 PM, a police team noticed two persons riding on a motorcycle coming towards the police picket from the Ganga Vihar side. On seeing the police checking, they made a U-turn in a bid to escape from the spot. On being suspicious, the police team immediately chased and overpowered them within a short span. On cursory search, one button actuated knife was recovered from the pillion rider. On asking the documents related to the ownership of the motorcycle, they tried to mislead the police team but could not produce any.
He further added, "On checking, the motorcycle No. DL-5SCA-2501, they were riding, found to be stolen in case vide e-FIR No. 013732/22 u/s 379 IPC, PS Gokalpuri, Delhi. Their identity was established as Farman (22) and Vishal Jain (22).
Accordingly, a case vides FIR No. 224/22 dated 19.05.22 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act, PS-Gokul Puri, Delhi was registered and they were apprehended. During the course of the investigation, they confessed to their crime and revealed their involvement in various cases of auto-lifting. On sustained interrogation, they disclosed that they used to steal motorcycles from the area of the North-East District and stock them in Loni (U.P.) later they sell these stolen motorcycles to innocent people in the remote area of Loni, Ghaziabad (U.P.) for a petty amount.
According to the Police, further investigation is under process.
