North-East District Delhi police arrested seven criminals from Welcome, Khajuri Khas and Bhajanpura in 24 hours

On January 26, 2022, a mobile phone was snatched from complainant Gaurav near Raghunath Mandir, Janta Colony. Accordingly, a case was registered and an investigation was taken up.
“During the course of investigation on the basis of scanning and analysis of CCTV footages of the nearby vicinity, a police team comprising Sub Inspectors Dharambir and Himanshu Yadav and Constable Mukesh zeroed in on three persons. On the instance of informer two persons namely Mohd. Chand and Dilshad were arrested from Lakdi Market ki Puliya, 66 Foota Road, Welcome,” Sanjay Kumar Sain, DCP, North-East District, New Delhi, said.
The snatched mobile phone was recovered from their possession. They confessed to their crime and disclosed about their third associate. Sincere efforts are being made to apprehend third associates. Further investigation of the case is in progress.
“In another case, on January 29, 2022, a police team comprising Sub Inspector Dharambir, Constables Vikas and Mukesh, while patrolling in the area reached near Jheel Park, Welcome and noticed that on seeing the police team, one person started walking at a fast pace and tried to hide near the wall of the park,” DCP Sain said.
He was chased and stopped by the alert police team. During a cursory search, one button actuated knife was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case was registered and an investigation was taken up. During the course of an investigation, his identity was established as Shehzada. He confessed to his involvement in multiple cases.
On checking, it was found that he was previously found involved in 11 cases of theft and the Arms Act.
In the third case, on January 29, while patrolling in the area of PS Khajuri Khas, the police team comprising Sub Inspector Arvind, Constables Hawa Singh and Chand Ram reached and started checking near A block Govt. School, Pusta road.
At about 08:30 pm police team noticed that a person riding on a scooty after seeing the police checking made a U-turn and tried to escape. He was intercepted by the alert team within a short span. During a cursory check, one country-made pistol loaded with one live cartridge was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case has been registered and he was arrested.
During the course of the investigation his identity was established as Aadil@chandu The alertness of the police team arrested the armed criminal and prevented the commission of an offence.
In the fourth case on January 28, on the basis of a complaint of Salaudin regarding the snatching of a mobile phone, a case was registered in the Khajuri Khas police station and an investigation was taken up.
During the course of the investigation a police team comprising Sub Inspector Sunil, Constables Subhash and Pramod scanned and analyzed the CCTV footage and with the help of the complainant zeroed- in on three-person.
On January 29, on the basis of local intelligence two persons, namely Kamre Alam @ Harish and Adil were arrested from the Bhajanpura subway within 24 hrs. On further investigation, they confessed to their crime and disclosed their involvement in other cases also.
On interrogation, they revealed their third associate namely Shavej R/o Jafrabad. Sincere efforts are being made to arrest the Shavej and recover the snatched mobile phones.
The fifth case was from Bhajanpura police station in which January 2, a complaint regarding the snatching of a mobile phone from Sunil Kumar Sharma was registered and an investigation was taken up. During the course of the investigation a police team comprising Head Constable Manish and Constable Anuj put up their best effort and on January 30, a raid was conducted and a person namely Ramdev arrested from his house in Bhajanpura and the snatched mobile phone was recovered from his possession.
