North East Delhi Police arrested over half a dozen criminals in 48 hours

In order to adhere to the zero-tolerance policy and curb the street crime under the ongoing “Operation-Ankush”, random Anti snatching pickets and police patrolling teams are being deployed within the District and on the bordering roads of North East District.

On 03.02.22 a police team comprising SI Deepak Chaudhary, HC Kuber Dutt, Const. Akshay Malik, Const. Ajay Tomar and Const. Ashok Meena while patrolling in the area in the early hours reached Jawahar Nagar Picket.

At about 07:30 AM police team randomly signalled a person riding on a motorcycle No. DL-14 SK-4987 and having a backpack. He was asked about the documents related to the ownership of the motorcycle upon which he informed that he borrowed the motorcycle from his friend.

During checking his behaviour remained suspicious hence police team checked his backpack, from which the police team found 12 mobile phones hidden at the bottom of the backpack under the cloths.

On enquired upon about the mobile phones he could not reply satisfactorily. Accordingly, he was apprehended and examined. During the examination, one mobile phone was found stolen. On further interrogation, he confessed to his crime and revealed that these 11 mobile phones were stolen during a political rally in the area of Baghpat, UP.

“During the investigation of case FIR No. 205/22, dated 03.02.22, u/s 392/34 IPC PS Bhajanpura, Delhi vide which mobile phone of the complainant was robbed by two persons after chocking her throat at 05:30 AM near Shiv Mandir Service Road, Bhajanpira,” Sanjay Kumar Sain, DCP, North East Delhi, said.

He added, “On 05.02.22, secret information was received, immediately a police team comprising SI Niraj, HC Krishan Kumar, Const. Sanjay Yadav, Const. Arun and Const. Parmender Malik, reached 5th Pusta service road near Police Booth, at around 08:30 PM on the instance of the informer.

A person namely Saranjit was apprehended. On cursory search, a button actuated knife was recovered from his possession.

During the course of the investigation, he confessed to his crime and revealed his involvement in case FIR No. 205/22 and revealed that they sold the robbed mobile phone. On further interrogation, he disclosed about his associates and on his instance, on 06.02.22 a raid was conducted in early hours and his associate namely Asif was arrested and three mobile phones were recovered from his possession.

On sustained interrogation, they disclosed their involvement in multiple cases of snatching. Sincere efforts are being made for recovery of robbed mobile phone and to link recovered three mobile phones to respective FIRs. Further investigation in the case is in progress.

On 02.02.2022 complaint was received from Pushpendra Kumar R/o Meet Nagar wherein he stated that while he was going home, on 20 ft. Road Meet Nagar Delhi, three unknown persons on a motorcycle assaulted him and robbed his mobile phone and purse containing cash Rs. 500/- & documents like Aadhar card, RC, PAN Card and Driving License.

Accordingly, on his complaint a case vide FIR No.210/22 dated 02.02.22 u/s 392/34 IPC, PS Jyoti Nagar, Delhi was registered and the investigation was taken up.

On 05.02.22 secret information regarding robbers was received and immediately on the instance of the informer a raid was conducted and a person namely Deepak was apprehended from the area near railway lines, Saboli fatak, Delhi. During cursory search robbed Aadhar card of the complainant was recovered from his possession.

On examination, he confessed to his crime and revealed his two associates. On his instance one of his associates namely Deepu was apprehended from the nearby area. Upon search, RC robbed from the complainant was recovered from his possession.

On interrogation, they disclosed their involvements in many cases and informed that the robbed mobile phone of the complainant is with their third associate namely Akash. On their instance one motorcycle No. Dl-7SBS-3030 stolen vide e-FIR No. 2201/2019 PS Shastri Park was also recovered. Further efforts are being made to apprehend the Akash and recover robbed items.

DCP Sain informed, “During evening patrolling on 05.02.22, SI Bintu, Const. Lalit and Const. Naveen reached near 212 Bus Stand, they noticed that a boy on a white Apache bike arriving from Durgapuri side, on seeing the police party made a U-turn in order to escape. He was chased and nabbed by the alert team.”

On his personal search, a button actuated knife was recovered from his pant. He was identified as Shahbaz. Accordingly, a case has been registered. On investigation, it surfaced that he is an active BC of PS Nand Nagari.

He added, “On 06.02.22 a police team comprising HC Vaibhav and Const. Deepak while patrolling the area of Partap Nagar, reached near Keekar Chowk and noticed that a person on a Bajaj Pulsar, motorcycle No. DL-5SSA -5506 on seeing the police party suddenly, entered in a nearby lane."

He was chased and apprehended by the police team. On checking, his identity was revealed as Ikhlakh. He is a BC of the area, the motorcycle he was riding also found to be stolen vide e-FIR No. 034802/21 u/s 379 IPC, PS Jyoti Nagar, Delhi. Accordingly, action in accordance with 41.1 (d) and 102 Cr.PC, PS Harsh Vihar, Delhi had been initiated against him.
