North East Delhi Police arrested four criminals from Seelampur, Sonia Vihar, Usmanpur and Gokalpuri

North East District of Delhi police have made remarkable efforts to keep crime under control in the special operation “Ankush”. The objective of the operation is to curb Street and Organized Crime, to deter the criminals/anti-social elements and more importantly to enhance sense of safety among citizens.

“On 31.01.2022 during patrolling at 66 Foota Road near Loha Market Pulia, police team comprising SI Shailendra, Const. Jaiveer Singh, Const. Inderjeet and Const Anuj noticed that a person riding on a white color scooty was coming from Seelampur red light towards Jafrabad on wrong side of the road,” Sanjay Kumar Sain, DCP, North-East District, New Delhi, said.

He added, “After seeing the police team he suddenly tried to make a u-turn. The alert police team immediately chased and apprehended him. During cursory search one country made pistol loaded with one live cartridge was recovered from his possession. On checking, the scooty No. DL-4SBY-7251 he was riding, found to be stolen from Gandhi Nagar, Delhi.”

Accordingly, a case was registered and investigation was taken up. During course of investigation his identity was established as Mahesh @ Bharat S/o Badri Parsad R/o New Seelampur Delhi, Age 24 years.

He confessed to his crime and disclosed his involvements in other cases also. On further examination he was previously found involved in 07 cases of theft/snatching and robbery. “In the second matter, during the investigation of case lodged in the police station Sonia Vihar Delhi, police team comprising HC Parveen and Const. Rohit received secret information,” DCP Sain said.

“Accordingly, on 31.01.22 a trap was laid near G-4 block, Sonia Vihar and on the instance of informer at around 09:30 AM a person was apprehended riding the stolen motorcycle No. DL-14SH-8081,” he added.

During investigation his identity was established as Mohit@Shanky S/o Arjun @Titu R/o Khajuri Khas Delhi Age-25 years, he confessed for his crime and disclosed his involvements in other cases also.

On his instance one more motorcycle without registration plates was recovered. After verifying through its Engine and Chassis numbers, it was found stolen from Adarsh Nagar, Delhi.

“In the third case, on the intervening night 31.01.22/01.02.22 while patrolling the area of PS New Usmanpur a police team comprising HC Amrish Panwar, Const. Amit Nain and Const. Rajiv reached near west side gate of DDA Park, Shastri Park,” DCP Sain informed.

He further said, “At around 11:55 PM police team noticed that a person exiting from the park started walking towards DD Flats at a fast pace. He was stopped and checked by the alert police team. On checking, one button actuated knife and two mobile phones were recovered from his possession.” During examination he could not reply regarding the mobile phones. Accordingly, a case in police station New Usmanpur, Delhi was registered. The person namely Pintu @ Sonu S/o Kishan R/o New Usmanpur Delhi, age 30 years was arrested and investigation was taken up.

During course of investigation, both the mobile phones were found stolen vide e-FIR No. 968/2021, u/s 379 IPC, PS New Usmanpur, Delhi and e-FIR No. 844/2021, u/s 379 IPC, PS New Usmanpur, Delhi respectively. He confessed for his crime and found involved in 06 cases previously.

In the fourth case, on the basis of complaint received from Mohd. Aslam S/o Dr. Islam regarding theft in the premises of his scrap godown on 30.01.2022, a case was registered in Gokalpuri police station and investigation was taken up.

A police team comprising ASI Anil, ASI Manvir, Const. Rohit and Const. Vipin under the supervision of SHO/Gokalpuri scanned and analyzed the CCTV footages of the nearby vicinity. Technical surveillance as well human intelligence was also collected. On 31.01.22 on a secret information, trap was laid and on the instance of informer a person namely Mohd Sadiq @ Gabbar @ Mohd Salik S/o Israr Khan R/o Mustafabad , Delhi Age-22 years was apprehended near Eidgah, New Mustafabad.

On interrogation, he confessed for his crime and revealed that he along with his associate namely Shahrukh carried out the burglary. On his instance, stolen LCD Samsung 32” and scrapped copper in a gunny bag was recovered from a nearby location. Sincere efforts are being made to apprehend his associate. Further investigation of the case is under progress.
