North East Delhi Police arrested dreaded robber, active snatchers, made important recoveries

On February 10, 2022, a complaint regarding the robbing of one auto driver for his mobile phone and cash Rs 2500 by a passenger at the knifepoint in the area of Gautam Puri was received. Accordingly, a case was registered and an investigation was taken up.
"During the course of the investigation, the police team comprising SI Shailendra Tiwari, Const. Jaiveer, Const. Navneesh and Const. Nitin thoroughly scanned and analyzed the CCTV footage of the nearby vicinity and figured out of escape route of the robber,"Sanjay Kumar Sain, DCP, North East District, said.
He added, "In CCTV footage, the alleged person was seen wearing the mask. Hence, the scanning area of the CCTV footage was extended and with utmost efforts put up by the police team, the robber was found unmasked in a CCTV footage around 2 Km away."
His photos were circulated through social media groups for identification. Later, through the local human intelligence, he was identified as Danish @ Mota who was already involved in multiple cases of thefts.
Further, the Dossier of the robber was analyzed and raids were conducted at his given addresses in the area of Seelampur and Khajuri Khas but, he was found to be shifted to an unknown place.
The mobile numbers of his relatives were obtained from his sureties. Through technical surveillance, his location was zeroed-in, in the area of Jahangirpuri. Through the local sources, his hideouts were ascertained and on the instance of the informer, a raid was conducted and he was arrested.
His identity was established as Danish @ Mota and he confessed to his crime. He also disclosed that due to strengthening of control measures against criminals adopted by North-East District Police he shifted his base from Seelampur.
During sustained interrogation his involvements in multiple thefts/snatchings cases surfaced. Further investigation of the case is still in progress for the recovery of mobile phones and weapons of offence.
"In another case, on February 21, 2022, at around 08.30 PM while patrolling in the area, Const. Chand Ram noticed crowds of locals shouting and beating a person. Const. Chand Ram immediately took cognizance of the situation and saved the person from the public," DCP Sain said.
Meanwhile, a lady reported that when she had been waiting for a bus for NOIDA, suddenly two boys approached her and snatched her mobile phone Samsung A-31 and handed over to his associate and both of them tried to flee the spot. However, he was caught red-handed at the spot by the public. However, his associate managed to escape.
Accordingly, on her complaint, a case was registered and the person was apprehended. His identity was established as Vinod Kumar. He confessed to his crime and revealed the identity of his associate as Manoj.
He added, "On his instance, a police team comprising PSI Chandan and Const. Chand Ram conducted a raid and arrested Manoj from the area of Usmanpur. The snatched mobile phone was recovered from his possession. On further interrogation, Manoj confessed to his crime and revealed his involvement in other cases of snatching. Further investigation in the case is in progress."
