North East Bhajanpura Police arrests Two Active Snatchers, Recovers Stolen phone and Motorcycle
In a major development, the Bhajanpura Police, New Delhi arrested two active snatchers and recovered a snatched mobile phone and a stolen motorcycle.

New Delhi: In a major development, the Bhajanpura Police, New Delhi arrested two active snatchers and recovered a snatched mobile phone and a stolen motorcycle. The accused have been identified as Anas (19) and Kasim (24).
Sanjay Kumar Sain, Dy, Commissioner of the North East District said, On the 28th of March a snatching incident happened in the area under the Bhajanpura Police Station, wherein two motorcycle-borne youth snatched a mobile phone from a lady near C-1 School, Yamuna Vihar in Delhi. Immediately, an FIR was lodged under Section 356/379/34 of the IPC and the case was taken up.
Mr. Sain further added that assessing the gravity of the daylight snatching incident in a busy area, a joint team comprising ASI Chatarpal, HC Anil, HC Krishanpal, Ct Mukesh, Ct Surender, and Ct Arun under the supervision of SHO/Bhajan Pura was assigned the task to solve the incident and nab the culprits. The Police took the help of both technical surveillance and manual source. After scanning, analyzing umpteen CCTV footage, and tremendous interrogations, Police were able to find CCTV footage where two people were seen on a motorcycle, and matching the time, the Police identified them as snatchers.
The Police took the registered number of the motorbike from the footage and on an investigation, it was found that the bike was stolen from Dayalpur, Delhi, and an FIR was already lodged in regards to the same. From that very footage, the pictures were circulated and the accused were identified as Anas and Kasim.
The Police then laid a trap and were able to apprehend both of them. On a cursory search, the mobile phones were recovered from their possession. On further investigation, both of them confessed to their crimes and revealed their involvements in other cases of snatching. The Motorcycle was recovered from them which they used to snatch mobile phones and other items. Further investigations are underway.
