Nort East District will be dealt at a single window in Cyber police Station

New Delhi : The Delhi Police set up a separate and dedicated police station in every 15 district to tackle with cyber crime cases. DCP of North East District Mr Sanjay Kumar Sain Said that With the growing influence of internet and the cyber activities in the day to day life of common men, people are being targeted/victimized through internet. There has been considerable rise in the crime related to cyber space for last a few years, ranging from identity theft, hacking, threatening, financial fraud, harassment and blackmailing through Social Media Platforms etc. The Cyber Police Station was considered necessary to constitute, to enquire and investigate cases/complaints related to Cyber Crime.

The new stations will have jurisdiction over the whole of the police district for which the Cyber Police Station is being notified. Delhi Police official informed , In compliance of the Gazette Notification No. NCTD No. 252, Delhi, Wednesday, November 17, 2021/Kartika 26,1943 and the guide lines laid down by the Police Headquarters, Cyber police Station/NED was made functional w.e.f. 30.11.2021.

DCP North East Said, A floor is dedicatedly earmarked for cyber police station in the existing building of Police Station Jyoti Nagar which is being inaugrated today at 4pm where the matter related to cyber crime will be dealt with and beside this, awareness programmes about cyber crime in schools/colleges/market places will also be undertaken. To provide collective solutions to complaints/issues related to cyber crime of North East District will be dealt at a single window in Cyber police Station.

The types of cyber crimes which have surged in the national capital are email frauds, social media crimes, mobile app related crimes, business email compromise, data theft, ransomeware, net banking/ATM frauds, fake calls fraud, insurance fraud, lottery scam, bitcoin, cheating ccams, online transactions fraud, gift card frauds, sextortion and Phishing-Vishing frauds, among others. In North East District Under the close supervision of ACP/Operations/NED, Inspr. Vikas Kumar Buldak, No. D/4206 has been appointed as SHO/PS Cyber Cell/NED.

Few days back Delhi Police Senior officers also said it was necessary to constitute a "Cyber Police Station" in each of the notified police district to inquire and investigate cases, adding it will facilitate extension of better police assistance to the public.
