‘No Speed Breaker’: On Wednesday, during his press meet, Eknath Shinde hinted quite at the return of BJP chief minister in Maharashtra, as he announced that his party Shiv Sena will vote any candidate that PM Modi and HM Amit Shah decide as the next leader of the Mahayutis.
"I spoke to PM Modi and Amit Shah yesterday and made it clear to them that I will in no way be a hurdle or obstruction in the formation of the new government in the state," caretaker chief minister Shinde said at a press briefing. "Our Shiv Sena will fully support the BJP's decision to name the next Maharashtra CM. There is no speed breaker from our side," he said. Shinde's clarifications come amid strong posturing and a concerted campaign by Shiv Sena leaders for his continuation as the chief minister.

"A meeting of all three parties (of Mahayuti) will be held with Amit Shah tomorrow (28th November). Detailed discussions will be held in that meeting. After that, a final decision will be made," Shinde said.
His clarifications, however, follow strong posturing and a concerted campaign spearheaded by the Shiv Sena leaders for his continuation as chief minister. "Nobody is annoyed. We have worked as Mahayuti," he said. Shinde thanked PM Modi and Amit Shah for supporting him during his two-and-a-half year tenure as chief minister. “We worked to take Maharashtra to Number 1 spot from Number 3 in six months of my becoming CM,” he said. “I am not disappointed. We fight and don't cry,” Shinde said, referring to media reports that he was unhappy over being asked to step down despite leading the Mahayuti to a massive poll victory.
He dismissed the rumors that he was unhappy about not getting a second term as CM after the ruling Mahayuti alliance came up with high numbers in leg wrestling under his leadership.
"My identity as ladla bhai is way above all political designations," the caretaker CM added as he spoke in detail about the achievements of his tenure as the leader of the Mahayuti government.
