Nitish Kumar was asked to take over the post of Chief Minister as the leader of the new alliance

As a major change in the politics of Bihar, Nitish Kumar today announced to break ties with BJP. He said that he should be nominated for the CM's post as the head of the 'Mahagathbandhan' of seven parties in which Tejashwi Yadav's RJD and other opposition parties are there. After his second meeting with Governor Fagu Chouhan today, Nitish said, "Seven A grand alliance of parties and an independent will work together." In the first meeting with the Governor, he had resigned from the post of CM. Less than an hour later, he met the governor again, this time accompanied by Tejashwi Yadav and other opposition leaders. They claimed to be invited to form the new government on the basis of their combined strength. Nitish Kumar has been asked to take over the chief minister's post as the leader of the new coalition.

Earlier, Nitish Kumar had resigned from the post of CM. After the meeting of JDU MLAs and MPs on Tuesday morning, Nitish Kumar had announced to break the alliance with BJP. After this, his speculations of forming the government again with RJD-Congress and other opposition parties were confirmed. In a day full of political turmoil, today Nitish came out to meet Governor Fagu Chauhan at around 3.45 pm on Tuesday. He went to the Raj Bhavan, about 500 meters from the Chief Minister's residence, met the Governor and submitted his resignation letter. When Nitish reached the Raj Bhavan, a huge crowd of supporters was shouting slogans of 'Zindabad'. Nitish Kumar later left for the residence of former Bihar CM Rabri Devi to meet Tejashwi Yadav. According to sources, after leaving Rabri Devi's house, Tejashwi and Nitish Kumar came out together. After this, the MLAs of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Left Party and Congress reached the CM residence. Where the meeting of the legislature parties of the new alliance started. In this, Nitish Kumar was elected the leader of the legislature party of the Grand Alliance. In the JDU legislature party meeting, Nitish accused the BJP of humiliating him. At the same time, he also tried to break his party. Let us tell you, till the year 2017, Tejashwi Yadav of RJD and his brother Tej Pratap Yadav were ministers in Nitish Kumar's government.

The tension between the Janata Dal United (JDU) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which was in power in Bihar, had reached its peak. Nitish Kumar believed that Union Minister Amit Shah is constantly working to divide JDU. Nitish Kumar had accused former party leader RCP Singh of acting as a pawn of Amit Shah. The RCP had resigned from the JDU late last week following allegations of corruption by the JDU. In the year 2017, RCP had joined the Union Cabinet from JDU quota as a representative of Nitish Kumar. Later Nitish did not extend his Rajya Sabha tenure, due to which RCP had to resign from the Union Cabinet.

Nitish's party JDU won 45 seats out of 243 seats in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2020. Whereas BJP had won 77 seats. Despite JDU winning fewer seats, the BJP had made Nitish the Chief Minister and handed over the command of the state to him. In Bihar Assembly Elections 2020, Rashtriya Janata Dal won 79 seats and Indian National Congress 19 seats. Whereas we got 4 seats. The majority figure is 122.
