Nine killed, one girl rescued after car swept away in river in Uttarakhand

Nine tourists from Punjab drowned in Uttarakhand's Ramnagar this morning when their car fell into the Dhela river and was swept away by a strong current. The accident happened at around 5:45 am when all the tourists residing in Patiala were on their way back to Punjab.Kotwal of Ramnagar, Arun Kumar Saini said that the bodies of four tourists have been recovered while five others are still trapped in the car.

The case is of Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. According to Kumaon Range DIG Anand Bharan, nine people died after a car was swept away in Dhela river in Ramnagar. 1 girl has been rescued alive and around 5 people are feared trapped. Another similar incident took place in Gujarat, where a school bus got stuck in a strong current of water in Jamnagar district. In a hurry, the local people started the rescue operation and saved many lives in time.
