Nick Jonas Reveals Why Indian Fans Call Him ‘National Jiju’

Nick Jonas National Jiju: Nick Jonas who is the husband of Priyanka Chopra has a strong bond with Indian fans because of his wife Priyanka Chopra, an iconic bollywood actress.

In a recent chat with the American comedian and TV host Jimmy Fallon, Nick Jonas spoke on the comments of Indian fans calling him ‘National Jiju.’

Meanwhile, in the interview for The Tonight Show, when Jimmy asked him, “You actually even have a nickname, I heard, in India.”

The American actor replied, “As you know I am married to Priyanka. When we got married this hashtag started. I was ‘National Jiju.’ Jiju means elder sister's husband, so effectively I'm the older brother to India.”

The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon also played a video clip when Nick Jonas along with his Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas came to India for a concert in Mumbai where Joe Jonas introduced him as ‘Jiju’ and then the whole crowd started chanting ‘Jiju Jiju’.

The official Instagram handle of ‘The Tonight Show’ also shared a clip of Nick Jonas from the Interview and captioned it, “@nickjonas’ nickname in India is “Jiju”!”

Several fans shared their love for Nick in the comments of the clip on ‘The Tonight Show’ post.

One fan wrote, “This is exactly why everybody loves Nick… there is nobody in India who does not like Nick… my mother is not very comfortable with English… she has barely listened to English songs in her life… never heard any of the Jonas brothers ever … but since Priyanka’s wedding video she is always like “Priyanka has married a nice guy” … trust me it means a lot when you have won the Indian mothers’ approval.”

Another fan added, “He is like the most respected firangi in India... Everyone loves him.”

However, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas are among the most lovely bollywood couples, they often share their life updates on their social media.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas married in December 2018 in a lavish wedding ceremony at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. After four years of their marriage, the couple welcomed their first child in January 2022, Malti Marie, who was a girl.

On the work front, Nick Jonas recently released his film ‘The Good Half’ which is a comedy-drama movie directed by Robert Schwartzman and was released in the US on July 23, 2024.
