On January 18, in a case of illegal mining registered in the year 2018, raids were conducted at the locations of Bhupinder Singh Honey in Mohali, Ludhiana and Pathankot.
The ED had recovered Rs 7.9 crore from Bhupinder's whereabouts, Rs 2 crore from Bhupinder's accomplice Sandeep, gold ornaments worth Rs 21 lakh and Rolex watch worth Rs 12 lakh. The ED called Bhupinder Singh for questioning on Thursday at the Jalandhar office. During the interrogation that lasted for about 9 hours, Bhupinder Singh got nervous and told the ED officials that his health was deteriorating. He was then taken to a private hospital in Jalandhar. At around 1 pm, the hospital claimed all the investigation reports of Bhupinder to be normal.
