Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra is ready to create history once again by getting fit. India's javelin throw champion Neeraj Chopra could create another history when he takes to the Lausanne Diamond League ground on Friday. The 24-year-old javelin thrower has recovered from a minor groin strain. He suffered the injury last month while winning a historic silver medal at the World Championships in Eugene, USA.
If they finish in the top three in Lausanne, they will be confirmed for the Diamond League Finals in Zurich on September 7 and 8. Currently, Chopra is fourth in the table with seven points. He finished second in the Stockholm Diamond League on 30 June, his first podium finish. A top six finish in the table will advance them to the Zurich Finals. Neeraj Chopra could not participate in the Commonwealth Games 2022 due to injury. In such a situation, it has to be seen whether he gives his superb best this season after a month of rehab. He may become the first Indian to win the Diamond League event as the eight male javelin throw athletes participating in it are not strong enough. Chopra's season-best of 89.94m, Wadlech's season-best of 90.88m and Walcott's 89.07m.
