The NCB seized 50 kg of Heroin and Rupees 30 lakhs Cash from New Delhi's Shaheen Bagh. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Dy. DG (Operations), NCB, said, "We received input from a liable source that a huge amount of heroin is stored in an apartment in Shaheen Bagh. Our team searched the apartment to recover 50kg of heroin, 47kg of suspected narcotics, Rs 30 lakhs in cash & a note-counting machine."
He further added, "They smuggle from abroad, manufacture it here; the supply is to Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, Uttarakhand via sea route & land border i.e Attari-Wagah border. They also mix it with legal goods being imported from Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Many people have been identified, searches are underway at various locations - Uttarakhand, UP, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi. There is no terror angle in this, yet. We'll request countries & prepare an extradition proposal for the accused living abroad".
NCB Head however has mentioned that "Investigation shows that this (Rs 100-Cr drug bust in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh) may have links with narco-terrorism. It has connections with Dubai, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. More people are involved in this case."
