Nayanthara Joins Yash, Geetu Mohandas’ ‘Toxic,’ Confirms Akshay Oberoi
Akshay Oberoi talked about working on Geetu Mohandas's Yash-starring, the Kannada film Toxic in this recent interview.

Since Yash announced Toxic, his next Kannada film with Geetu Mohandas after KGF, curiosity around the film has been fired up. The makers, however, chose to keep cards close to their chest, barring some updates that hint at it being a retro gangster film. In a recent interview with Digital Commentary, Akshay Oberoi could not help but let slip that Nayanthara has been confirmed for the project.

Akshay Oberoi reveals details about Toxic
Talking about the film, Akshay let slip that Nayanthara has, in fact, been roped in for the project, confirming months of speculation. He said, “Right now, I am shooting for Toxic with Yash…Megastar Yash, Rocking Star Yash is his actual title. And Nayanthara is there. Actually, I’m not sure I’m allowed to talk about the film’s cast; they won’t like it.”
While he didn't divulge much detail, Akshay said that, upon seeing Fighter, Geetu cast him in the film. “But Geetu Mohandas is the director, and I am a huge fan of hers. I loved her film Liar’s Dice. I remember watching it and thinking she’s so good. I love Moothon, too. She saw Fighter and cast me for Toxic; I was dying to meet her. It’s my first south film, and the scale is truly something else,” he said.

While Kiara Advani and Tara Sutaria are also rumored to be part of the film, nothing more has been announced concerning casting. Kareena Kapoor's name was also originally attached to the project, but that project seems to have steered off course. There are also sentiments that have sprung suggesting that Nayanthara has been cast in the filmy role of Yash's sister, though a confirmation is awaited.
This is Yash's next film after KGF, and therefore the expectations are high on the project. Early this month, a birthday teaser released from the film also showed him partying at a nightclub. He is also co-producing and starring in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
