The Indian Navy statement said that this landing demonstrated India's capability to design, develop, manufacture and operate an indigenous combat aircraft carrier. India's first indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant was commissioned into the Indian Navy by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Made India a part of an elite group of nations capable of building aircraft carriers of more than 40,000 ton class. Navy Vice Chief Vice Admiral S. N. Giving information, Ghormade said that indigenously developed fighter aircraft LCA and MiG-29 fighter aircraft made their first successful landing on the country's first Made-in-India aircraft carrier INS Vikrant in the Arabian Sea today.
