Navjot Singh Sidhu resigns from the post of Punjab Congress President

Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned from his post. The Congress has now reached a bad position in Punjab. According to the election results of Punjab, Congress got only 18 seats. Navjot Singh Sidhu himself also lost from his Amritsar seat.

Not only Sidhu, many veteran Congress-Akali leaders had to face defeat in the wave of the Aam Aadmi Party.

Navjot Singh Sidhu has given his resignation by tweeting, he wrote, "As desired by the Congress President , I have sent my resignation."

Indeed, after the huge defeat in the elections of the five state assemblies, Congress President Sonia Gandhi called for the resignation of the state presidents of these states so that the commissions could be reconstituted. It is the first time that such resignations have been requested after the defeat.
