Naveen Jindal Joins BJP, to Contest from Kurukshetra; Ranjit Chautala from Hisar

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Naveen Jindal, who used to be a Congress MP, will run for the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
Naveen Jindal Joins BJP: After inducting Ranjit Singh Chautala into the BJP fold in Sirsa on Sunday, the BJP fielded him from Hisar, also an Independent MLA from Rania segment.
On Sunday, Naveen Jindal, an industrialist and former Congress MP, and Ranjit Chautala, an independent MLA from Haryana, joined the BJP and were named the party's candidates in Kurukshetra and Hisar, respectively.
It has been his responsibility to serve as a cabinet minister in the Haryana government since October 2019. He is the son of former deputy prime minister Devi Lal and a brother of former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala. As a Rajya Sabha MP, he was elected in 1990 and is a two-time MLA (1987 and 2019).
As a Congress MP from 2004-14, Jindal represented Kurukshetra in Lok Sabha, and said he wanted to contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Viksit Bharat' agenda.
Vinod Tawde, BJP general secretary, welcomed him at the party's Delhi headquarters.
In his interview with reporters in Delhi, Jindal, who lost to Modi in 2014, said in the past 10 years the country has progressed and many historic steps have been taken, including the abrogation of Article 370. He told reporters that the dream of having a Ram temple in Ayodhya had also been fulfilled.
For the Sonepat parliamentary seat, the party has nominated its sitting MLA from Rai segment, Mohan Lal Badoli, replacing Ramesh Chander Kaushik, its two-time MP.
The government's agenda of boosting the country's economy and prosperity will be enhanced by Jindal's presence in the party, Tawde said. According to him, Jindal Steel chairman is also keen on sports and education. "Like Naveen Jindal joined the BJP here (in Delhi), Ranjit Chautala ji, a Haryana minister and independent MLA, you have also joined the BJP."
According to the Haryana chief minister, Jindal is a famous industrialist of the country, a former Kurukshetra MP and an experienced leader who fought for the right of every Indian to hoist the tricolour. As Ranjit Chautala told PTI in September 2023, he was open to contesting the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 and might do so if the BJP offered him one.
As a result, the party has announced nominees for all 10 Haryana parliamentary seats.
