NASA’s Sunita Williams Faces Weight Loss Concerns as Fresh Food Supplies Dwindle
Considering the fact that NASA gave its word, astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are running out of the stock of fresh food on board the ISS.

NASA’s Sunita Williams Faces Weight Loss: Although NASA has communicated to the astronautics society that the two NASA personnel who have been on stuck in the International Space Station for five months have enough provisions, in the opinion of specialists, this food supply is slowly running out of fresh meat.
Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore have indulged in pizza, roast chicken, shrimp cocktails, and other hearty meals, but have a minimal intake of fresh produce, as stated by The New York Post.
This information comes on the heels of the space agency which has deployed the two astronauts controlling its health, after recent photos showed Williams appearing unusually thin and with deep hollow cheeks.

What is Sunita Williams above a space kitchen eating?
The Starliner Mission specialist concerned with the two astronauts told The New York Post how the two consume a range of food such as breakfast cereals, powdered milk, pizzas, shrimp cocktails, roasts and tuna fishes and how they eat quite a lot too.
However, there’s always an issue of the dietary intake with respect to the fresh supply of fruits and vegetables since it takes seventy two days for the fresh foods to be brought to the ISS. “There’s fresh fruit at first but as the three months continues that goes away — and their fruits and vegetables are packaged or freeze-dried," they said.
With regards to the astronauts stationed at the International Space Station, food consumption is 1.7 kg per day per person, which is tailored to satisfy each astronaut’s needs in a given day.

Yet all this food is prepared down here on earth and required to be reheated on the international space station. On the other hand, the four members onboard the ISS are fed with the water produced from their urine and sweat. They eat off special plates with magnets on them, as they are the ones who prepare their meals.
Sunita Williams denies weight-loss news
The specialist insisted the astronauts are well-cared for. “So to be accurate, it should be very clear that any weight loss is not due to a lack of provisions on the ISS. There is plenty of food, even for an extended mission," they said.
The diets of the astronauts became a subject of worldwide attention due to the pictures published by NASA where the face of Williams looked sunken. Williams dismissed the tabloids stories and explained that it was due to gravity and the weight was simply distributed differently.
