Nargis: Nargis Dutt also known as Nirmala Dutt is an iconic Indian actress whose film carrer was exceptionally well and gained popularity in the film industry.
Among other films her best-hit films was Mother India (1957) which made her win the Filmfare Award for her fantastic performance.
However, from a very early age, she started acting and by the time she was an adult, she had already created a good profile in the film industry.
She performed mostly in all types of genres from romance to drama and got huge acclaim for her acting skills.
Nargis Wiki and Biography
Nargis was born to Abdul Rashid and Jaddanbai Hussain on June 1, 1929, in Calcutta, both her mother and father were born Hindu and later converted to Muslim.
Nargis has two relationships, the first relationship was with Raj Kapoor, who already had a wife and children. However, Nargis wanted to settle down with Kapoor but because of his wife and children she couldn't, and later on after 9 years of relationship she gave up.
In 1958, Nargis married Sunil Dutt and had one son and two daughters, Sanjay Dutt, Namrata Dutt, and Priya Dutt.
Sanjay Dutt became a successful actor and made many movies, Namrata married star Kumar Gaurav, and Priya became a politician.
Later, Nargis worked to help children with spasticity and was the first person to support the Spastics Society of India.
Nargis Career
Nargis made her first appearance in the film industry at the age of 5 years old in the film Talash-E-Haq’ (1935). She then played lead roles in many movies, such as Taqdeer, Anban, Humayun, Ramayani, and Nargis.
Nargis Dutt became famous after her performance in the film Andaz, directed by Mehboob Khan. Also, her performance in the movie Barsaat in 1949 was the most successful movie of all time.
Nargis also played lead roles in the movies Meena Bazaar, Jogan, Jan Pahechan, Babul, and Aadhi Raat. Nargis's role in Babul got much attention. She also played lead roles in Hulchul and Deedar.
She was also featured in Bewafa (1952), Anhonee, and Amber and people loved Nargis's dual roles, which showed how well she could show how her personalities were conflicted.
Her last movie role was in the psychological drama Raat Aur Din, which got good reviews and was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.
