Mumbai BMW Crash: Mihir Shah in Judicial Custody Until July 30
A 40-year-old woman, Kaveri Nakhwa, was killed by a BMW can that was driven by Mihir Shah; he rammed into a scooter on which she was driving along with her husband Pradeep. This incident took place on Woril’s arterial Anni Besant Road.

Mihir Shah, accused of a BMW hit-and-run case in Mumbai, was on Tuesday sent to judicial custody until July 30.
On July 7 at 5:30 am, a 40-year-old woman, Kaveri Nakhwa, was killed by a BMW can that was driven by Mihir Shah. He rammed into a scooter on which she was driving along with her husband Pradeep. This incident took place on Woril’s arterial Anni Besant Road.

On July 10, Shah was sent to seven-day police custody and police told a court as Shah's custody ended today., "He has not given any information about whom did he meet, where all did he go after the crime. He threw away the number plate. There's no information on why he cut his hair,"
Mihir Shah escaped for three days until he was tracked down to an apartment in Virar, around 65 km from Mumbai after the BMW hit-and-run incident and got arrested after two days from Virar in Palghar district. The police said that they traced one of his friends turned on his phone for 15 minutes which led the police to Mihir Shah.

They said, “The investigation is still on. We need to know who gave him the car and shelter after the accident. For that we need an extension of the police custody."
The defence lawyer said’ “In the remand report, it is stated that they have recovered clothes, recorded 27 statements and found the beer cans,"
The police stressed that the "number plate was an important evidence and we need to recollect". The public prosecutor told the court.
"We have still not found out the reason for the change in appearance."
According to police, after the crash, the woman was dragged for nearly 1.5 kilometres. Afterwards, Shah and Bidawat exchanged seats and mowed her down again while reversing the car. Rajesh Shah instructed Bidawat to swap the driver's seat with Mihir Shah, who already helped his son flee the scene.
Later, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (Sewri court) S P Bhosale, sent him to police custody till July 16.
Mihir Shah was sent to 14-day judicial custody, on Tuesday, July 16.
