Mrunal Thakur on Dhanush Dating Rumours: Mrunal Thakur has finally spoken up about the dating rumours with actor-filmmaker Dhanush after the two were spotted together multiple times which led to the buzz of them being in a relationship in Kollywood and Bollywood circles.

However, the Son of Sardaar 2 actress clarified and said that Dhanush is ‘just a good friend’ to her. “I’m aware that a lot of news has been circulating about the two of us being linked together recently. I just found it funny when I saw it,” Mrunal said in an interview cited by Only Kollywood, adding, “Dhanush is just a good friend to me."

Brushing off the rumors as silly and baseless. Aware of the media chatter, she called the speculations “funny" and said there’s nothing between them.

Adding to the clarification, Mrunal said Dhanush was not invited to the Son of Sardaar 2 screening. “Dhanush attended the Son of Sardaar 2 event. No one should misunderstand that. It was Ajay Devgn who invited him," she explained, putting an end to misconceptions about her role in the actor’s attendance.

Mrunal’s southern films brought her closer to Dhanush.

"Yes, it's true that they are dating. But it's too new and they've no plans of making their relationship official before the public or the media. At the same time, they're unfazed about going out and about and being spotted. Friends are truly rooting for them as they're quite similar and compatible when it comes to their values, choices and thoughts," the insider added.

The rumors started when Mrunal was spotted at the wrap-up party of Tere Ishq Mein, the upcoming film featuring Dhanush and Aanand L Rai. And during the Son of Sardaar 2 screening, the two shared a moment which went viral online and added to the gossip. Mrunal following Dhanush’s sisters on Instagram also added to the speculation though both actors have been private about their personal lives.

Dhanush was married to director Aishwarya Rajinikanth (daughter of superstar Rajinikanth) for 18 years and they parted ways in 2022. They have two kids, Linga and Yatra.

While fans are still curious about Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush, the actress’s statement has put the rumors to rest — at least for now.
