More than six thousand schools will be selected for PM-Shri in the first phase itself, financial assistance will be released in April

The PM-Shri (PM School for Riding India) scheme designed to align government schools with the recommendations of the new National Education Policy (NEP) is now set to gain momentum. Under this, in the first phase, an announcement can be made to upgrade more than six thousand government schools in the country. Whose selection process is almost in the final stage.

All the schools selected for the first phase will be announced in March. Of these, about one thousand schools can be from Uttar Pradesh alone. According to the Ministry of Education, 14,500 government schools across the country are to be upgraded under the PM-Shri scheme. These schools are being selected under stiff competition. In this, only two schools are to be selected from each block. It will have a primary and junior high school.

The special thing is that as soon as the schools are selected in this scheme, they will get financial help of two crores. Now this scheme is for five years. According to the ministry, financial assistance will be issued to all the more than six thousand schools selected in the first phase under this scheme in the first week of April itself.
