A big plan has been prepared for New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai railway stations, the cabinet has approved the redevelopment of these three stations. The Modi cabinet on Wednesday approved a proposal for redevelopment of New Delhi, Ahmedabad and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus-Mumbai rail stations at a cost of Rs 10,000 crore.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur told reporters after the meeting that a proposal to this effect was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that in this direction, the cabinet has taken a big decision regarding the redevelopment of railway stations. He informed that a proposal for investment of Rs 10 thousand crore has been approved for the redevelopment of New Delhi, Ahmedabad and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus-Mumbai rail stations. According to a government statement, the development of these stations will create 35,744 new jobs, provide better passenger experience and boost the local economy through investment and additional business opportunities.
