India's legendary female player and ODI captain Mithali Raj has announced her retirement from international cricket. Mithali played cricket for India for 23 years and holds the record for most runs in women's cricket.
Mithali gave this information by releasing a message on social media on Wednesday, thanking the BCCI and all the fans. He wrote, Many thanks to all of you for all your love and support for so many years. Now I will look forward to the second innings of my life and for this too your love and support will be needed.
Mithali wrote in her emotional message, I started my service in Blue Jersey as a little girl. Nothing can be a greater honor than playing for your country. My journey was full of ups and downs and each event taught me something new and different. Last 23 years have been the happiest, challenging and funniest years of my life.
